WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Nekoosa scored multiple runs in four different innings and defeated Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 13-8 in a nonconference baseball game Monday at Witter Field.

Nekoosa had 11 hits, six for extra bases, and used a six-run second inning to pull ahead for good.

Hunter Lochner had a home run and two RBI, and Ethan Hoogestegr and Braiden Richardson each drove in a pair of runs with two hits each for the Papermakers (5-11).

Nick Leberg had a single, a home run and three RBI to pace the Assumption offense.

Assumption (3-11) will wrap up its Marawood Conference South Division schedule Tuesday at Stratford. Game time is 4:45 p.m. and the game will be broadcast at
