MOSINEE BOYS BASKETBALL USES QUICK START TO DOWN RHINELANDER, REMAIN UNDEFEATED

MOSINEE – Mosinee jumped out to a quick lead and never trailed in a 54-42 victory over Rhinelander in Great Northern Conference boys basketball action Friday night at Mosinee High School.


The Indians ran out to a 12-3 lead and built that to 29-17 by halftime. Both teams scored 25 points in the second half as Mosinee held on to remain undefeated at 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the GNC.


Davis Stoffel had 14 points and Trenton Dorn added 11 for Mosinee.


Jacksen Smith scored 13 points, and Will Gretzinger and Ryan Jamison each had 11 for Rhinelander (2-2), which was playing its conference opener.


Mosinee is back in action Thursday with a nonconference game at Stratford. The game will be live-streamed at zaleskisports.com.
