Zaleski Sports

MOSINEE – Mosinee scored the game’s only run in the bottom of the first inning and Davin Stoffel did the rest on the mound, lifting the Indians to a 1-0 win over Edgar in a nonconference baseball game Monday.

Trevor Garski had a leadoff walk and came around to score on after a single by Drake Grod and an error. That was it for the scoring as Stoffel allowed just two hits in 5 2/3 innings, striking out six.

Eli Miland finished up the shutout, striking out two in 1 1/3 innings. After one-out singles by Kyle Brewster and Drew Guden in the top of the seventh for Edgar, Miland forced a pair of fly outs to end it.

Ashton Schuett suffered the tough-luck loss for the Wildcats, as Mosinee managed just five hits.

Mosinee (9-4) plays a Great Northern Conference game at Lakeland on Tuesday. Edgar (10-2) returns to Marawood Conference South Division play Tuesday at Auburndale.
