MOSINEE – Garrett Shupe and Davin Stoffel combined on a one-hitter as the Mosinee baseball team routed Rhinelander 11-1 in six innings in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal Tuesday at Mosinee High School.
No. 1 seed Mosinee (23-3) will take on Great Northern Conference rival Medford (22-5), the No. 2 seed, in a regional final Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Mosinee High School. The winner moves into the Division 2 sectionals, which will be held Tuesday, June 7, at Red Arrow Park in Abbotsford.
Mosinee and Medford split GNC games during the regular season, with Mosinee winning 2-0 on April 27 and Medford taking a 6-4 decision two days later.

Mosinee scored four times in the second inning to take command and were able to finish off the victory by the 10-run rule with a four-run sixth.
Keagen Jirschele, Tanner Unertl and Gavin Obremski each had three hits in the win for the Indians. Obremski had a pair of doubles and drove in two, Trevor Garski added two RBI, and Taylor Lemanski had two hits and two RBI as well for Mosinee.
