MEDFORD HANDS MOSINEE BASEBALL ITS FIRST CONFERENCE LOSS

MOSINEE – Medford overcame an early deficit and handed the Mosinee baseball team its first Great Northern Conference loss of the season, winning 6-4 on Friday at Mosinee High School.


Mosinee led 3-0 after the first inning before Medford ripped off six unanswered runs to held on for the win.


Mosinee is now 8-2 overall and 4-1 in the Great Northern Conference, one-half game ahead of Medford (11-4, 3-1) in the conference standings.


Braxton Weissmiller had three hits and an RBI for Medford.


Mosinee was limited to just two hits. Taylor Lemanski and Trevor Garski had RBI for the Indians.


Mosinee is scheduled to play a GNC doubleheader at Northland Pines on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. Medford is off until Tuesday when it hosts Northland Pines.
