MARSHFIELD BOYS SOCCER ROLLS PAST ASHWAUBENON

MARSHFIELD – Sam Roherty hit for a hat trick in the first half to lead the Marshfield boys soccer team to a dominating 6-1 win over Ashwaubenon in a nonconference match Thursday at Heiting Community Stadium.


With the victory, Marshfield finishes its regular-season schedule with an 11-6-2 record. Ashwaubenon falls to 1-16-1.


Spencer Frey opened the scoring with a goal at the 12:49 mark and Roherty added his first score 4½ minutes later to give the Tigers a quick 2-0 lead.


After Ashwaubenon scored, Brian Fay added a goal and Roherty scored twice more before halftime, the final goal coming just 32 seconds before halftime, putting Marshfield in control at 5-1.


Kyle Tremelling added a goal 5:30 into the second half for the Tigers to finish the scoring.

Marshfield outshot the Jaguars 35-6 in the win.


The Tigers will host Green Bay Southwest in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Heiting Stadium.
