GILMAN – The Loyal boys basketball team opened its season with a resounding 68-22 win over Gilman on Tuesday at Gilman High School.


The Greyhounds pounded Gilman from the start, opening up a 44-12 lead by halftime and limited the Pirates to just seven made field goals in the game.


Drew Stieglitz had 16 points and Kaiden Hagen added 15 in the win as Loyal made six 3-pointers.


Loyal hosts Greenwood on Friday in another Cloverbelt East matchup.
