LA CROSSE CENTRAL HOLDS ON LATE TO BEAT WISCONSIN RAPIDS GIRLS BASKETBALL

LA CROSSE – The Wisconsin Rapids girls basketball team came up just short Tuesday night, falling to La Crosse Central 65-63 in a nonconference game at Central High School.


Rapids trailed 30-23 at halftime and scored 40 points in the second half, but the comeback attempt was two points shy.


Megan Clary scored 23 points, and Ella Bruns had 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Raiders, who fall to 10-8.


Wisconsin Rapids made 11 3-pointers in the loss, including three each by Clary and Avery Brise.


Wisconsin Rapids hosts Merrill for a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
