HAVLOVITZ POURS IN 39 AS WILD ROSE GIRLS BASKETBALL ROARS BACK TO BEAT PITTSVILLE

PITTSVILLE – Laney Havlovitz scored 24 of her season-high 39 points in the second half to lead the Wild Rose girls basketball team to a come-from-behind 60-46 win over Pittsville on Tuesday at Pittsville High School.


Brynn Friday scored 15 of her team-high 16 points in the first half to give Pittsville a 35-32 lead at the intermission.


Wild Rose dug in defensively in the second half as Gracie Thompson limited Friday to just one free throw and the Wildcats held Pittsville to only 11 points to win going away.


Havlovitz finished with 13 field goals, including two 3-pointers, and was 11 of 14 at the free throw line for the Wildcats, who improve to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in the CWC South with their ninth-straight win.


Orria Wood added 11 points for Wild Rose.


Reese Grimm had 11 points as well for Pittsville (7-6, 3-2 CWC South).


Pittsville plays a CWC South game at Port Edwards on Thursday at 6 p.m.


Wild Rose hosts Stevens Point Pacelli in a battle of Central Wisconsin Conference South Division co-leaders at 7:15 p.m. Friday. Both teams are 5-0 in the conference.
