PORT EDWARDS – Gresham used a full-court press to take control of the game early and cruised to an 83-38 victory over Port Edwards in a nonconference girls basketball game Tuesday at Port Edwards High School.
Gresham jumped out to a 22-5 lead in the opening minutes, pulled ahead 44-24 by halftime and went on to grab its fourth-straight win to start the season.
Valarie Cerveny scored 37 points and Hannah Cerveny added 18 in the win for the Wildcats.
Melanie Sillars, Aubree Shroda and Nakita Barths each scored eight points for Port Edwards (0-3).
Port Edwards opens its Central Wisconsin Conference South Division season at home against Stevens Point on Friday at 6 p.m. The game will be live at zaleskisports.com.
