GILMAN – Gilman raced out to a double-digit lead by halftime and went on to defeat Colby 52-31 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Tuesday at Gilman High School.
Gilman led 26-12 at halftime and was able to hold off the Hornets from there.
Emma Grunseth had 15 points and Tatum Weir added 13 for the Pirates in the win.
Colby was led by Kya Viegut, who scored 10 points.
Gilman is now 2-4 overall and 2-2 in the Cloverbelt East, while Colby drops to 1-4 and 1-3 in conference play.
Colby plays a conference game at Loyal on Friday.
