BROSTOWITZ SCORES FIVE TOUCHDOWNS AS WISCONSIN RAPIDS FOOTBALL KNOCKS OFF WAUSAU WEST

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids earned a big early-season win in the Valley Football Association as it defeated unbeaten Wausau West 36-20 on Friday at South Wood County Field.


Wisconsin Rapids, which had lost its two games to start the season before having a bye due to a Wausau East forfeit last week, is now 1-2 this season and 1-0 in the VFA. West falls to 3-1 and 1-1 in the VFA.


Leo Brostowitz finished with 220 yards rushing and scored all five Wisconsin Rapids’ touchdowns in the victory. He scored on runs of 6 and 14 yards in the first half as the Raiders led 14-8 going into halftime. Brostowitz added TD runs of 11, 34 and 9 in the second half as Rapids pulled away.


Wisconsin Rapids will play at Stevens Point next Friday, Sept. 17. West will be off as it receives a forfeit from Wausau East.
