BREDLAU LEADS GREENWOOD FOOTBALL PAST VIROQUA

VIROQUA – Quarterback Cooper Bredlau ran for three touchdowns and threw for another, lifting the Greenwood football team to a 28-14 nonconference win over Viroqua on Friday night at Viroqua High School.
Bredlau had a pair of 2-yard touchdown runs in the first half as the Indians clung to a 12-6 lead going into halftime. He added a 53-yard scoring run in the third quarter and hit Xander Hinker for a 15-yard touchdown pass in the fourth to extend the Indians’ lead to 28-6 and they held on from there.
Bredlau finished with 180 rushing yards on 16 carries and teammate Wyatt Artac had 84 yards on the ground as Greenwood (2-0) piled up 284 yards rushing.
The Indians’ defense was stout, allowing just 208 total yards to Viroqua (0-2).
Greenwood hosts Gilman in its Cloverwood Conference opener next Friday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m.
