WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids scored nine runs in the first three innings and went on to defeat Holmen 12-2 in a nonconference softball game Friday at Lincoln High School.

Sawyer Holberg had a double, a home run and drove in three runs, and Hayley Wagner and Megan Clary each had two RBI for Wisconsin Rapids, which improves to 5-1 this season.

Wisconsin Rapids had eight hits and took advantage of 13 walks to earn the victory.

Rhiannon Carroll was the winning pitcher, striking out one in five innings.

Wisconsin Rapids will play a nonconference doubleheader at La Crosse Central on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
