MERRILL – Megan Clary had three extra base hits and drove in four runs as the Wisconsin Rapids softball team pummeled Merrill 17-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Monday at the Merrill Area Recreation Center.
Clary had two doubles and a triple for Rapids, which scored seven times in the first inning and added 10 more in the fourth to finish off the game via the 15-run rule.
Rhiannon Carroll picked up the win with three shutout innings, striking out two. Clary finished up the shutout.
Carroll also added three hits and three RBI, and Sawyer Holberg, Nora Lassa and Allie Verjinsky all had two RBI for the Raiders.
Wisconsin Rapids hosts Wausau East for a doubleheader Tuesday at Lincoln High School starting at 4 p.m.
