WISCONSIN RAPIDS LEGION BASEBALL RALLIES TO PULL OUT TWO WINS AT HOME TOURNAMENT

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Legion baseball team rallied to win a pair of games at its home tournament on Saturday, improving to 7-1 this season.
Wisconsin Rapids scored eight runs in its final three at-bats to defeat Altoona 8-1, and scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings and ended up beating De Pere 4-3 in 11 innings.
Jacob Dekarske earned the win for the Rangers in the opener against Altoona, striking out five in 4 2/3 innings.
Caden Sengbusch had two hits and scored twice, and Zach Schaefer drove in two runs for Wisconsin Rapids, which trailed 1-0 before scoring four runs in the fourth inning and adding two more in each of the next two innings to pull away.
Against De Pere, Cole Ladick scored the tying run for the Rangers with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 3-3.
Neither team scored until the 11th when Rapids had three-straight singles and Ryan Sering walked with the bases loaded to force in the winning run.
Wisconsin Rapids will play Middleton at 3 p.m. and Stevens Point at 5:30 p.m. Sunday as the tournament concludes.
