WISCONSIN RAPIDS GRABS BACK-TO-BACK CONFERENCE WINS

WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- The Wisconsin Rapids Red Raiders girls basketball team improved its conference record to 5-1 with a home win over Merrill on Saturday night. With a Friday 57-50 win in Marshfield and last night's 69-43 victory, Wisconsin Rapids stays within striking distance of first place Wausau West (5-0).
The Red Raiders were led in scoring by Megan Clary with 27 points that included six three-pointers. Vanessa Vechinski (15) and Chelsea King (10) also scored in double figures.
Courtney Krueger led the Blue Jays with 13 points.
Wisconsin Rapids hosts Chippewa Falls on Thursday in a non-conference game before returning to Wisconsin Valley Conference basketball with a road game at Wausau East on Monday, January 18th.
