WISCONSIN RAPIDS GIRLS BASKETBALL USES LONG BALL TO TAKE OUT MERRILL

MERRILL – The Wisconsin Rapids girls basketball team made 10 3-pointers and 46 first-half points in a 79-57 victory over Merrill to remain unbeaten in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
The Raiders shot 55 percent from the field (33-for-60) and were 10-for-24 from 3-point range in the win, improving to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the WVC. Merrill is now 1-9 and 0-4 in conference play.
Megan Clary had 21 points, and Avery Brise and Chelsea King each added 12 points for Wisconsin Rapids.
Wisconsin Rapids will take part in the Sentry Classic at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Dec. 28-29. The Raiders play Verona at 4:15 p.m. Dec. 28 and Freedom at 1:45 p.m. on Dec. 29 at Quandt Fieldhouse.
