WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wausau East swept the four singles matches in straight sets and went on to defeat Wisconsin Rapids 6-1 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet on Tuesday at Lincoln High School.

Wausau East improves to 3-2 in the WVC, while Rapids is now 1-4 in conference play.

Wisconsin Rapids’ lone win came at No. 2 doubles where Sawyer Holberg and Aleeya Leach won a tight three-set match over Alaina Berres and Isabela Knight, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5).

Wisconsin Rapids finishes up its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet schedule at Wausau West, and Wausau East will host Merrill on Thursday. The WVC Tournament will be Sept. 30 at Wausau East.
