STRATFORD VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS MARATHON, TAKES SOLE POSSESSION OF FIRST IN MARAWOOD SOUTH
STRATFORD – The Stratford volleyball team now stands alone as the only undefeated team in the Marawood Conference South Division after sweeping Marathon 3-0 on Tuesday at Stratford High School.
The Tigers won 27-25, 25-18, 25-21, to improve to 3-0 in the Marawood South. Marathon falls to 2-1.
Mikayla Guldan led Stratford’s offensive attack with 18 kills. Lauryn Nagel and Abby Oertel each had 16 assists, Tanaya Schillinger had 11 digs, and Nagel added six kills in the win.
Stratford will compete at the Abbotsford Invitational on Saturday before returning to Marawood South action next Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Auburndale. Auburndale is tied with Marathon at 2-1 in the conference standings.
