WITTENBERG – Stratford scored on four-straight possessions in the first half and rolled past Wittenberg-Birnamwood 35-6 in its first-ever football game in the Central Wisconsin Conference Large Division on Friday night at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School.
Colton Schillinger scored on runs of 46 and 23 yards, and Beau Gross had a 1-yard touchdown run and caught a 13-yard pass from Max Vanderhoof to put Stratford on top 27-6 by halftime.
Jackson Ormond added a 2-yard touchdown run in the closing minutes for the Tigers.
Stratford held Wittenberg-Birnamwood to 13 yards rushing in a dominating defensive performance.
Schillinger had 94 yards rushing and Gross added 87 on the ground as the Tigers racked up 201 yards running the ball.
Stratford hosts Weyauwega-Fremont next Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
