RHINELANDER – The Stevens Point girls basketball team pulled out to a 25-point lead by halftime and went on to defeat Rhinelander 66-39 in a nonconference game on Friday at Rhinelander High School.
The Panthers led 40-15 after a dominant first half and they were able to maintain their big lead the rest of the way.
Emma Jossie had 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Avery Lilly and Zoe Fink each chipped in 14 for Stevens Point.
“The girls played really well, especially in the first half,” SPASH coach Kraig Terpstra said. “We really shared the ball well. We made the extra pass against their pressure and created great scoring opportunities.”
Stevens Point plays a nonconference game at Eau Claire Memorial on Tuesday.
