STEVENS POINT BASEBALL SHUTS OUT MARSHFIELD TO STAY IN FIRST PLACE IN WVC

STEVENS POINT – Bryce Ehr drove in three runs with two hits, and Kaden Thauer and Riley Warzynski combined for a five-hit shutout as the Stevens Point baseball team defeated Marshfield 7-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup Thursday at Bukolt Park.


Thauer pitched six strong innings and Warzynski finished off the win to keep Stevens Point in first place in the WVC at 6-1 (12-4 overall).


Bennett Klish added two hits and two RBI, and Tommy Droher scored three times for the Panthers.


Marshfield had five singles from five different players in the loss, its 18th in a row.


Both teams play nonconference doubleheaders on Saturday. Marshfield will host La Crosse Logan at Hackman Field starting at 11 a.m. Stevens Point travels to Chippewa Falls for two, also starting at 11 a.m.
