STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point girls basketball team fell behind early and lost to Freedom 68-54 on Tuesday in a game at the Sentry Classic at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.


Freedom, ranked No. 2 in this week’s Division 3 Wissports.net State Coaches Poll, is now 10-0. Stevens Point falls to 3-7.


Freedom led 33-18 by halftime. The Panthers held a one-point advantage in the second half, but couldn’t make up enough ground.


Emma Jossie had 22 points and seven rebounds to lead Stevens Point.


Stevens Point plays Verona in the tournament at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday.
