SPENCER – The Spencer girls basketball team won a pair of home games over the weekend, defeating Granton 51-28 on Friday and Gilman 51-48 on Saturday in Cloverbelt Conference East Division action.


Spencer is now 8-6 overall and 4-5 in the Cloverbelt East heading into the final week of the season.


In Friday’s win, Heavyn Kind had 15 points and Elexa Post scored 10 as both made two 3-pointers for Spencer.


Spencer trailed 21-17 at halftime against Gilman on Saturday afternoon before rallying in the second half to secure the victory, outscoring the Pirates by seven.


Kind had 22 points on the strength of five 3-pointers, Zalexis Mannigel added nine points and Amber Becker scored eight for the Rockets.
