SPASH VOLLEYBALL TOPS WAUSAU WEST IN WVC MATCH

STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point volleyball team pulled out a 3-1 win over Wausau West in a Wisconsin Valley Conference match on Thursday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

The Panthers won 25-15, 20-25, 25-25, 25-22, to improve to 2-4 this season in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. West is now 1-4.

Montana Zdroik had 26 assists, Ali Schrank had 22 digs, and Emma Barton had 10 kills to lead the way for SPASH.

Madi Laabs added seven kills, Sam Nickel had 16 digs, and Brooke Boeck had 15 digs and seven service aces in the victory for the Panthers.

Stevens Point will compete at the Appleton East Invitational on Saturday before hosting Eau Claire Memorial for a nonconference match on Tuesday. West hosts Wausau East in a WVC match on Tuesday.
