Zaleski Sports

STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point busted open a tie game with a dominant second half and went on to defeat Chippewa Falls 69-45 in a nonconference girls basketball game Tuesday at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

The game was tied 30-30 at halftime before the Panthers blew it open, outscoring Chippewa Falls 39-15 the rest of the way to secure the victory and improve to 4-8 this season.

“We had a great second half,” SPASH coach Kraig Terpstra said. “We picked it up defensively and that sparked our offense. Zoe Fink really heated up to help us pull away.”

Fink finished with 23 points on the strength of seven 3-pointers, and Emma Jossie added 19 for SPASH.

Stevens Point finished with 12 3-pointers in all. Talia Moe added seven points, seven rebounds and seven assists in the win.
