RAPIDS GIRLS MOVE TO 2-0 IN CONFERENCE AFTER OT WIN IN STEVENS POINT

SPORTSDESK - The Wisconsin Rapids Red Raiders girls basketball team overcame the SPASH Panthers in overtime Friday 65-61. The win gives Rapids a 2-0 start to the 2020/21 Wisconsin Valley Conference season after defeating Marshfield earlier in the week.


In the win, the Red Raiders picked up 16 points from senior, Vanessa Vechinski, and 15 from junior, Megan Clary. Junior, Chelsea King was also a double digit scorer with 13 and senior, Alli Martin, grabbed 10 rebounds.


In the loss, SPASH's Tahlia Moe led the Panthers with 13 points and Lauren Strasman had 13 rebounds.


Six of the next seven Wisconsin Rapids games are at home including December 8th against Menasha. SPASH hosts DC Everest on December 11th.
