PLOVER LEGION BASEBALL HOLDS OFF WISCONSIN RAPIDS

PLOVER – Plover used a four-run fourth inning to erase a two-run deficit and held on for a 4-3 win over Wisconsin Rapids in American Legion baseball action Thursday night at Memorial Park.
Wisconsin Rapids took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a passed by and a RBI single by Carson Gunderson.
The lead held until the fourth when Thomas Hunt and Jon Nafe had back-to-back singles, the Rangers committed an error to allow one run to score and Carl Biechler doubled home a run to tie it.
Kaden Mayer followed with a sacrifice fly that ended up scoring two runs to give the Black Sox a 4-2 lead.
Wisconsin Rapids scratched out one run in the top of the seventh on an RBI double by Caden Sengbusch, but left the bases loaded as Landon Moe wiggled out of the jam to save the win for Drew Kedrowicz.
Kedrowicz struck out nine in four innings and Moe four in three innings for the Black Sox (4-3).
Plover hosts Oshkosh and La Crosse in a triangular on Saturday at Memorial Park. The Black Sox will play Oshkosh at 11 a.m., Oshkosh will take on La Crosse on 1 p.m., and Plover will play La Crosse at 4 p.m. The Plover games will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
Wisconsin Rapids (3-1) will host a tournament this weekend staring with games on Friday.
