PITTSVILLE – The Pittsville volleyball team earned a nonconference win at home on Thursday night, sweeping Greenwood 3-0.

The Panthers won 25-21, 25-16, 25-20.

Angel Millard had 12 assists, Brooke Grossman added 11 assists, and Madisyn Schooley had nine kills and five blocks for Pittsville.

Kaylee Jacobson had a team-high 12 digs, Sara Lacoursiere added 10 digs and two service aces, and Reese Grimm had six kills as well for the Panthers in the victory.

“We played a much better team game tonight,” Pittsville coach Buff Heller said. “I told the girls, ‘The way to beat a team that hustles is to out hustle them.’ We did that in games two and three.”

Greenwood statistics were not provided.

Greenwood returns to Cloverbelt Conference East Division action Tuesday at home against Neillsville. Pittsville will play at the New Lisbon Invitational on Saturday and at Spencer for a nonconference match on Monday.
