PITTSVILLE – The Pittsville and Port Edwards girls basketball teams wrapped up their regular-season schedules on Thursday while paying tribute to a former coach for both programs.
Pittsville won the game 69-19 as the teams celebrated Don Neve Night.

Neve spent 30 years coaching in Pittsville and another four in Port Edwards before he died in 2019.
Neve was the Pittsville High School head basketball coach from 1984-2000, and served as an assistant basketball, football, baseball and softball coach as well before serving as assistant girls basketball coach at Port Edwards under his daughter Deb Martin from 2016-19. Neve’s granddaughters Jade Martin, a 2019 graduate, and current senior Taylor Martin played under his tutelage as well.
A 50/50 raffle was held during the game, with the proceeds going to a scholarship at Pittsville High School set up in his name.
