NECEDAH – Logan Zickert struck out 10 in 5 2/3 innings to lead the Pittsville baseball team to a 13-3 win over Loyal in a nonconference game Friday at Necedah High School.


Brad Neve drove in two runs, and Ethan Strenn had two hits and scored twice for the Panthers, who improve to 2-0 this season.


Pittsville was able to put the game away with a seven-run sixth innings, ending the contest due to the 10-run rule.


A roster for Loyal was unavailable.


Loyal is scheduled to host Thorp in a nonconference game Tuesday. Pittsville hosts Rosholt on Monday in its Central Wisconsin Conference South Division opener.
