PACELLI VOLLEYBALL WRAPS UP CWC SOUTH TITLE

STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point Pacelli volleyball team wrapped up its fifth-straight Central Wisconsin Conference South Division championship with 3-0 sweeps of Almond-Bancroft on Oct. 5 and Wild Rose on Oct. 12.
Pacelli defeated Almond-Bancroft 25-20, 25-14, 25-19, and Wild Rose 25-17, 25-20-, 25-12, to finish the CWC South season with a perfect 6-0 record.
Lain Ilkka had 23 kills, Casey Vaughn had 16 kills and 33 digs, and Kylie Struble had 34 digs and 10 service aces to lead the way in the two wins for the Cardinals. Setters Claire Sobczak and Emma Reinke had 26 and 23 assists, respectively, in the two matches.
Pacelli finishes its regular-season schedule with a nonconference match at home against Amherst on Thursday. The Cardinals are the No. 4 seed in its Division 4 Sectional 2 bracket in the WIAA playoffs and will host No. 13 Northland Lutheran in a regional quarterfinal on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m.
