PACELLI SOFTBALL BLASTS MARION IN WIAA DIVISION 5 REGIONAL SEMIFINAL

PLOVER – Sami Miller hit a three-run home run in the second inning and pitcher Hannah Trzinski allowed just one hit in four innings as the Pacelli softball team rolled to a 17-1 win over Marion in a WIAA Division 5 regional semifinal Monday at Woyak Park.


Pacelli (21-3) hosts No. 4 seed Wausau Newman Catholic (7-8) on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Woyak Park in Plover.


Pacelli scored four times in the first inning and put the game away with a huge nine-run second. The Cardinals finished off the game, via the 15-run rule, with a four-run fourth.


Trzinski struck out nine and didn’t walk a batter, allowing just one unearned run in the top of the fourth. She also drove in two runs and scored twice for the Cardinals.


Grace Repinski had three hits and three RBIs, Julia Storch had three hits and scored three times, and Miller finished with four RBIs for Pacelli.


Jayden Hytry and Emma Van Order both added two hits, Sydney Gavin added two RBIs, and Briar Armatowski scored four times as well for the Cardinals.
