PACELLI BOYS BASKETBALL OUTLASTS ROSHOLT IN OVERTIME

ROSHOLT – The Stevens Point Pacelli boys basketball team kept its conference title hopes alive with a 54-50 overtime victory over Rosholt in a Central Wisconsin Conference South Division matchup Monday at Rosholt High School.

Pacelli led 16-11 after a low-scoring first half before Rosholt stormed back to force overtime at 47-47.

The Cardinals outscored Rosholt 7-3 in the extra period to pull out the win and improve to 10-12 overall and 8-2 in the CWC South. Pacelli remains one game behind Almond-Bancroft (10-1 CWC South) in the loss column in the conference standings.

Eli Trzinski had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Cody Studzinski added 11 points for Rosholt (7-11, 2-7 CWC South).

Jaydon Awe had 16 points and 20 rebounds, and Nick Fox added 14 points for Pacelli.

Rosholt plays a pair of home CWC South games this week as it hosts Pittsville on Thursday and Tri-County on Friday. Pacelli is back in action Friday with a conference game at Wild Rose.
