PACELLI BASEBALL SWEEPS SATURDAY TRIANGULAR

IOLA, WI - The Pacelli Cardinals baseball team has moved its record to 14-3 overall after Saturday wins against Bonduel and Iola-Scandinavia.
It was a game one 9-5 win over Bonduel that saw the Cardinals jump out to a first inning 3-0 lead. Pacelli would then score once in the 2nd and match a three-run Bonduel top of the third with three of its own in the bottom of the inning to take a 7-3 lead. A pair of runs in the sixth inning would last thru the seventh and Keltin Opper picked up the save with Asher Jordan earning the win.
Another big first inning for Pacelli in game two as the Cardinals led Iola-Scandinavia 5-3 after the opening inning was in the books. The Thunderbirds would then plate a run in the fourth before scoring three in the sixth to take a 7-5 lead. Pacelli would come alive in the top of the seventh as five Cardinals crossed home to retake a 10-7 lead. That score would hold as T Sackman came in the bottom of the seventh and picked up the save while facing just three Iola-Scandinavia batters.
Drew Kedrowicz set the pace offensively all day for Pacelli with four hits and five runs batted in.
Next up for Pacelli is a home game on Tuesday at 4:30 against Rosholt. A Pacelli win and they clinch the outright Central Wisconsin South conference championship.
