PACELLI BASEBALL ENDS REGULAR SEASON WITH ROAD WIN AT NEKOOSA

NEKOOSA – The Pacelli baseball team scored six times in the top of the first inning and never looked back, rolling to a 9-5 nonconference win over Nekoosa on Monday.
Ben Haemmerle threw six innings of one-run ball, striking out 10, to earn the win for the Cardinals, who finish the regular season with a 15-11 record.
Bryce Cashin had a triple and two RBIs, and Kaydin Mayek drove in three runs for Pacelli.
Ethan Hoogsteger and Hunter Boudreau each had two hits for Nekoosa (5-9), which scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh before Pacelli got the final out.
Pacelli hosts Wild Rose in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal Thursday at Bukolt Park starting at 4:30 p.m.
Nekoosa will play a Division 3 regional quarterfinal at home against Auburndale on Thursday.
