STEVENS POINT – The Stevens Point boys hockey team suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday, losing a nonconference game to Green Bay Notre Dame 4-1 at K.B. Willett Arena.
Notre Dame scored twice in the first period, and added goals in the second and third periods to take a commanding 4-0 lead.
SPASH (2-1) finally got on the scoreboard 4:48 into the third period when Jackson Schroeder scored off an assist from Simon Bienvenue, but that was all the Panthers could muster as they were outshot 33-14 in the loss.
Stevens Point will host Wisconsin Rapids in its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener Thursday at 7 p.m.
