LOYAL – The Neillsville girls basketball team held Loyal to single digits in each half as it cruised to a 49-13 win in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday night at Loyal High School.


Neillsville led 25-9 at halftime and held the Greyhounds to just four points in the second half to finish off the victory.


Neillsville improves to 16-2 overall and remains undefeated at 12-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Loyal drops to 8-10 and 6-5 in conference play.


Paris Opelt went 6-for-7 from 3-point range and finished with 20 points to lead the way for the Warriors. Amelia Trunkel added 12 points in the win.


Loyal plays at Granton on Monday and at Colby on Tuesday, while Neillsville will be off until Thursday when it travels to Spencer.
