NEILLSVILLE GIRLS BASKETBALL BLASTS LOYAL IN SEASON OPENER

NEILLSVILLE – The Neillsville girls basketball team showed no rust in its season opener as it dominated Loyal from start to finish in a 54-10 victory on Friday night at Neillsville High School.
Neillsville held Loyal (0-2 overall) to just three made baskets from the field in the game.
The Warriors cruised out to a 31-4 lead by halftime and finished off the win by outscoring Loyal by 17 in the second half in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener for both teams.
Ten different Neillsville players scored in the win with Amelia Trunkel leading the team with 10 points, and Paris Opelt and Paige Voight each chipping in eight.
Abriel Kubista had seven points for Loyal.
Both teams return to action for Cloverbelt East action on Tuesday. Loyal will be at Gilman and Neillsville will play at Owen-Withee.
