MOSINEE VOLLEYBALL TOPS MARATHON

MARATHON – The Mosinee volleyball team finished its regular-season schedule on Thursday night with a 3-0 sweep of Marathon in a nonconference matchup between top playoff seeds at Marathon High School.

Mosinee won 25-17, 25-18, 25-20, to improve to 30-3 this season. Marathon is now 24-6.

Mosinee is a No. 1 seed in its Division 2 regional and Marathon is a No. 1 seed in its Division 3 bracket. Both will open WIAA postseason play on Thursday, Oct. 21 at home in regional semifinals.

Abbi Martin had 14 kills and five blocks, Alexis Jonas had 28 assists and eight digs, and Claire Selenske had 10 digs for Mosinee.

Dannica Shupe added nine kills, Jenna Placek had eight kills, and Jessica Maurer had nine digs as well for Mosinee.
