MOSINEE VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS MEDFORD IN WIAA DIVISION 2 REGIONAL SEMIFINAL

MOSINEE – The top-seeded Mosinee volleyball team took care of business in its postseason opening, rolling to a 3-0 sweep of Great Northern Conference rival Medford in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal Thursday night at Mosinee High School.
The Indians (31-3) won 25-9, 25-15, 25-20, to advance to a D-2 regional final at home Saturday night against No. 4 seed Waupaca, which was a 3-1 winner over Tomahawk on Thursday.
Abbi Martin had 11 kills, Jessica Maurer had 10 kills and nine digs, and Jenna Placek had eight kills and five blocks for Mosinee.
Setter Alexis Jonas had 33 assists and five service aces, Claire Selenske led the defense with 12 digs, and Tristan Wicklund added seven digs for the Indians.
