MOSINEE GIRLS BASKETBALL HANGS ON FOR ROAD WIN AT AMHERST

AMHERST – Kate Fitzgerald made five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Mosinee girls basketball team to a hard-fought 54-49 nonconference win over Amherst on Tuesday night at Amherst High School.


Mosinee led 21-19 at halftime and held off a late charge to earn the victory and remain undefeated, improving to 19-0 this season.


Adalyn Lehman added 13 points for the Indians.


Hannah Wall and Tatum Maves each scored 11 points for Amherst (13-6).


Amherst returns to its Central Wisconsin Conference East Division schedule at Menominee Indian on Thursday.


Mosinee hosts Rhinelander in Great Northern Conference action Friday. The game will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
