MOSINEE GIRLS BASKETBALL ESCAPES WITH WIN OVER RHINELANDER TO REMAIN UNDEFEATED

MOSINEE – The Mosinee girls basketball team locked down Rhinelander in the second half, holding the Hodags to just three points and overcame a halftime deficit to win 37-25 in a Great Northern Conference game Friday night at Mosinee High School.
Rhinelander led 22-16 at halftime as Mosinee made just four baskets and were 6-for-8 at the free throw line.
The Indians turned the tables in the second half, limiting Rhinelander to one made basket from the field and one free throw over the final 18 minutes to keep their undefeated season intact.
Kate Fitzgerald hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight of her team-high 11 points in the second half for Mosinee, which outscored Rhinelander (13-7, 6-3 GNC) 21-3 to pull out the victory.
Mosinee (20-0, 10-0 Great Northern Conference) plays at Northland Pines on Tuesday.
