MOSINEE GIRLS BASKETBALL DOMINATES MEDFORD, FINISHES REGULAR SEASON 23-1

MOSINEE – The Mosinee girls basketball team finished off an undefeated Great Northern Conference championship season with a 62-33 rout of Medford on Friday night at Mosinee High School.
Kate Fitzgerald had 18 points and Lexi Freiboth added 16 for the Indians, who finish the regular season with a 23-1 record and a perfect 12-0 mark in the Great Northern Conference.
Medford (7-15, 6-6 GNC) will host Merrill for a WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal on Tuesday with the winner moving on to a regional semifinal Feb. 25 at Lakeland.
Mosinee earned a first-round bye and will be at home for a D-2 regional final Feb. 25 against the winner of Tuesday’s game between Antigo and Wausau East.
