Zaleski Sports

LOYAL - In what could have been a trap game, with Neillsville waiting on the other side of a sleep, Loyal was up to the task. The Greyhounds avoided the trap and disposed of the Gilman Pirates at home, 52-40.

Loyal's Remi Geiger went over her season average of 18.3 with a game-high 24 points. Bailey Brevener added eight points and Savannah Schley had seven. Schley also led the Hounds with seven boards, three on the offensive end.

Gilman was paced by Grace Grunseth with 15 points and Warner had 13.

All eyes now turn back to Loyal on Friday night as the Cloverbelt East's biggest game of the year tips at 7:15 p.m. against visiting Neillsville. Both the Greyhounds and the Warriors sit at the top of the Cloverbelt East with just one loss. The winner on Friday night will be one game clear of the loser and two ahead of the third-place team, Colby. Watch the game live at zaleskisports.com.
