LOYAL – Loyal made 22 of 24 free throws overall and went on to slip past Colby 51-49 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Tuesday at Loyal High School.
Loyal led 24-22 at halftime and made 13 of 14 attempts in the second half at the free throw line to hold off the Hornets.
Remi Geiger had 25 points and Savannah Schley added 13 for the Greyhounds, who move to 13-4 overall and 10-2 in the Cloverbelt East.
Lexi Krebsbach and Emma Peavey each had 16 points, and Hailey Voelker had 11 points and 13 rebounds for Colby (11-6, 9-4 Cloverbelt East).
Both teams return to action Thursday. Colby is at first-place Neillsville, while Loyal will host Spencer.
