KIMBERLY OUTLASTS WISCONSIN RAPIDS GIRLS BASKETBALL DESPITE HUGE GAMES FROM CLARY, KING

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Kimberly pulled out to a nine-point lead by halftime and held on in the second half to top Wisconsin Rapids 73-61 in a nonconference girls basketball game Friday night at Lincoln High School.
Megan Clary drilled five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points, and Chelsea King added 24 points on the strength of 8-for-9 from the free throw line to lead Wisconsin Rapids, which falls to 0-2 on the young season.
Emma Kilpatrick made three of Kimberly’s nine 3-pointers and had 23 points for the Papermakers, who were playing their season opener.
Wisconsin Rapids will have some time off before hosting Beaver Dam for a nonconference game on Tuesday, Nov. 30.
