KIMBERLY BASEBALL STARTS SEASON WITH TWO BIG WINS

OSHKOSH – The Kimberly Papermakers baseball team is off to another great start in 2022 after picking up a couple of big wins earlier this week.
On Monday, the Papermakers earned a 5-0 shutout over Fond du Lac, getting two-hit games out of Kale Twombly and Brandon Carew.
On Tuesday, Kimberly defeated Oshkosh North 9-6. The Papermakers scored a single run in the top of the first, before Oshkosh North score three in the bottom of the second. Kimberly fought right back in the top of the fourth as it platted five runs to take a 6-3 lead.
Kimberly took a 6-4 lead into the sixth inning as the Papermakers scored two runs in the top half and Oshkosh North scored two in the bottom half. The Papermakers scored an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning to get the 9-6 win.
Kimberly’s Collin Obermann led the way with a double and four RBI on the afternoon. Brayden Deering picked up the win on the mound going four innings, giving up five hits, four runs and struck out five. Obermann came in to throw the last three innings only allowing one hit, but two runs while walking five and striking out six.
For Oshkosh North, Max Bittner took the loss on the mound throwing 3 2/3 innings while giving up just one hit but walked six batters and only struck out three.
Kimberly will take on Menomonee Falls on Friday at noon. Oshkosh North will compete over the weekend at the Franklin Showcase.
