GREENWOOD NATIVE EARNS FIRST COLLEGIATE WIN

LA CROSSE - Greenwood high school alumn, Amanda Bogdonovich, pitched a complete-game victory with the Viterbo V-Hawks on on Sunday afternoon. In the extra-inning win over Presentation College, Bogdonovich and the V-Hawks held off a Saints two-run eighth inning rally to take a 7-6 home win.


In the game, Bogdonovich struck out two Saints and allowed five earned runs through eight complete innings. Six V-Hawks batters had a run batted in to support Bogdonovich's pitching effort including Janelle Ulaszek who had three hits in four plate appearances.


Bogdonovich is a freshman at Viterbo College and playing in her first season with the V-Hawks. At Greenwood high school, Bogdonovich was a three year starter at pitcher and shortstop.


Viterbo is now 2-12 on the season and will again take on Presentation College on Monday, March 29th with first pitch of a double-header scheduled for 2pm. Both games can be watched here: https://portal.stretchinternet.com/viterbo/index.htm
